CHAPTER 12

“Meeting in my office now,” he says.

The meeting is with the brass from One Police Plaza. We go over everything that happened, making sure that everything was by the book. We don’t want any reasonable doubt to derail all our hard work.

We are on the phone with the Baltimore office and Chief Pope finalizing our reports. The drugs that were seized had a street value of $7.5 million, and there was over a million dollars in cash. The weapons seized were everything from handguns to assault rifles to grenade launchers. There were nine semi-automatic shotguns along with ten Tasers. This is no ordinary street gang. Just the power of the weapons alone, then adding in the money, points to bigger players. Every federal law enforcement and local authorities are now involved in this case. We just opened a can of worms. No way in hell is this just a local drug gang.

The killing of Maurice and Marsha, along with the other drug dealers, was ruled justified, so our part in the case was wrapped up. Our Baltimore office will take over, and we will assist if needed. That whole sick family will never be allowed to cause pain and heartache to anyone else. Marsha wanted to be a family again. I pray that they are all roasting in hell TOGETHER as a family. I think about the two boys; they never stood a chance with the parents they had. Who knows how they would have turned out with the right people in their lives. We will never know.

The closing of one case and the continuance of another. There is no way that small-time drug dealers could amass all that money and drugs. The big question now is who it is.
